possessive obsession

heya...saturday evening..i'm still home.no dates.no life.hehe.how fun!anyway read this article in a mag about having a possesive partner.It was talking abt a boyfriend texting his gf every hr asking where i am and who i'm with...and preferring his gf to stay home if they cant go out on certain evenings...sounds all too familiar eh?haha!when advice given was that if the boyfriend was just jealous,the gf hafta reassure him that the gf loves him and wouldnt do anything to hurt him.(i guess i didnt manage that part all too well!;P)Of course,every relationships needs trust to work.however,i didnt manage to convince darling marc all that.The true thing is that,NO amount of possessiveness can ever prevent hm from getting hurt;and it could even have the opposite effect of driving the gf away.(hell yeah!!)The boyfriend loves the gf so much he'll do anything to keep from losing the gf-whether its to hide the gf from other guys,or shieldinf her from danger.in actual fact,all he's tryingto do is to control the gf.Talk abt chauvinsim!The mag Reminded me that the boyfriend is NOT YOUR PARENT, or even an AUTHORITY FIGURE.A boyfirend is an equal.he aint there to dictate your actions.(thats exactly how i feel...)
ADVICE to myself. dont fall into the trap of tailoring your whole life according to a guy's preferences.You were your own person before you met him.There's no reason why you should otherwise now.
